See Kate Middleton kick a soccer ball in heels like a pro

A dress and heels won’t stop the Duchess of Cambridge from getting sporty.

Prince William and Duchess Kate ended their day in Cambridgeshire by meeting local businesses and members of the community on the inaugural Cambridgeshire County Day, held at Newmarket Racecourse in July.

Photos from their visit show Kate kicking a soccer ball on the grass, even while wearing a pair of wedge espadrilles and a lavender chiffon dress by LK Bennett.

The couple had a busy morning which involved appearances at Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum, Children’s Hospices of East Anglia and charity Jimmy’s. Their final event of the day celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee and features 120 exhibitors from various businesses and charities across the county.

Earlier, Kate and Will kicked off their busy schedules by attending the unveiling of their first official joint portrait, painted by artist Jamie Coreth and commissioned by the Cambridgeshire Royal Portrait Fund. Coreth was inspired for the artwork by an appearance the couple made during a visit to Ireland in 2020.

“I wanted to show Their Royal Highnesses in a way where they seemed both relaxed and approachable, as well as elegant and dignified,” the artist explained in a statement. “As this is the first portrait to depict them together, and specifically during their time as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, I wanted the image to evoke a sense of balance between their public and private lives. piece was commissioned as a gift for the people of Cambridgeshire, and I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
