Five Valley sports teams will play for the District 4 titles in soccer and field hockey on Thursday night.
District 4 officials announced the times and venues for four championship football games and the 2A field hockey final this morning.
Tonight the 3A football finals will be played in Middleburg starting with the girls at 6 and the boys at 8. Only district champions will qualify for the state tournament next week.
On the girls side, top-seeded Mifflinburg meet third-seeded and defending champion Selinsgrove in the opener at Midd-West, followed by the boys of Danville-Selinsgrove.
Thursday night in Field Hockey A, fifth-seeded Line Mountain takes on third-seeded Bloomsburg at 7 p.m. at Selinsgrove High School. Both teams have already qualified for the States.
Also on Thursday, the District A and 2A champions for men’s and women’s soccer will be crowned.
South Colombia will have a doubleheader in Central Colombia. In the Girls A final, defending state champion Southern will meet top seed South Williamsport at 6 p.m. Both teams have already qualified for the state tournament.
The Southern Boys will face East Juniata in the late 8-man game. Only the champion advances to the States.
The Midd-West and Lewisburg men’s teams will meet in the district playoffs for the sixth consecutive year when they face off for the 2A men’s title at 6 p.m. in Loyalsock. Both teams qualified for the county tournament.
Lewisburg have beaten Midd-West in the last two district title games, while Midd-West won a semi-final shootout in 2018. Lewisburg also beat the Mustangs in the Finals in 2016 and 2017.
In Girls 2A, No. 1 seed Central Columbia will meet No. 2 seed Montoursville at 8 p.m. Thursday night in Danville. Both teams qualified for the States.
