Hand’s Scott Testori selected to play in American football game

Senior soccer player Scott Testori is one of five players in the state and 44 across the country to compete in the 10th Annual U.S. High Schools Game on Saturday, May 29 in St. Louis.

The other four state football players selected for the 2020 East All-American squad, along with Testori, are: Jack Anderson of Loomis Chaffee (signed to play at Syracuse University), Jai Bean of South Kent (Duke) , Andrew Serafino from Suffield Academy (Boston College) and Mohammed Seidu from South Kent.

The Eastern team will face the Western team. The game was originally scheduled to be played last December in Orlando, Florida, but has been postponed.

The 6-foot-3 Testori finished his senior season with 28 goals and eight assists in 11 games, earning him record-zone MVP laurels for the third straight season. He helped lead the Tigers to an unbeaten record and to the SCC B Division Championship.

Testori, who will play UConn next fall, was named national player of the year by United Soccer Coaches in December. He was also the GameTimeCT State Player of the Year and has been selected as All-American and All-New England for the past two seasons.

Saturday’s game will be played at Chaminade College Prep High School at 1 p.m. For the full roster, coach roster, and other all-American game information, visit www.highschoolsoccerallamerican.com.
