Georgetown football field vandalized | FOX 56 News

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – A football field in Georgetown was damaged.

According to a Facebook post by Georgetown Soccer Club April 9, the Lisle Road Soccer Complex has been damaged.

It takes a lot of time and hard work to make these grounds playable for kids,” said Chris Calulot, President of Georgetown FC.

Calulot said around 1,200 children use the land.

“It takes effort from the parks and recreation management team to re-roll the pitch and make it nice and flat because kids can get hurt if the pitch is not in good shape,” Calulot said.

“Decisions like this affect the thousands of children who play and train at our Lisle Road Football Complex, especially this season with limited pitch space,” the post read.

The football club offers programs such as recreational football teams, academy football and selected football. These programs cover a diverse selection of player goals and interests.

“You have the right to be here, but you don’t have the right to destroy things, you’re only hurting your community and the kids in your community who are trying to learn the game,” Calulot said.
