Football player needs funds to attend CR7 football tournament in Portugal

Freeway Park football enthusiast Caleb Beckweitz (10) has been selected to take part in the CR7 football tournament taking place in Madeira, Portugal from June 20-27.

According to his parents, Roland and Arlene Beckweitz, he has been fascinated by all things football ever since he could kick a ball as a toddler.

“He spends hours practicing and is a focused, hardworking and dedicated young man who gives his all to his passion. Caleb is a member of the Jorge Elite Soccer School squad at Huddle Park, Edenvale.

“An academy will teach players to play in all positions, but Caleb wants to be a striker (7). His hero is Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo,” Arlene explained.

She said Caleb was selected as one of 10 boys to take part in the CR7 football tournament.

“It is a great honor and a privilege for him because he has worked very hard to get to this point in his football career.”

Caleb, however, needs the support of the community to make his Portuguese dream a reality.

“Although we are doing everything in our power to raise the necessary funds, unfortunately we are unable to pay for this trip. We are therefore asking for the help of the community to help our son go to Portugal.

“Costs include airfare, accommodation and other incidentals. If we fail to raise the funds, Caleb’s football dreams will be shattered.

“Any donation, big or small, will help Caleb realize his dream and hopefully direct his destiny as a professional footballer for years to come,” added Arlene.
